One people.
One heritage.
One future.
Kroo Descendants' Development (KDD) CIC is a Community Interest Company established to unite Kroo descendants, preserve our unique cultural heritage and promote the social, educational, economic and cultural wellbeing of our communities.
Inspired by our motto Popolaybo — Unity — we honour our ancestors, empower our people and inspire generations to come.
About KDD CIC“Unity is our strength.”
Popolaybo is more than a word—it is the foundation of everything we do. It represents togetherness, solidarity, respect and collective responsibility.
From the coast of West Africa to a global community.
For centuries, the Kroo people have carried a proud identity shaped by freedom, maritime expertise, self-governance and community. Today, that living heritage connects descendants across Africa, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Europe and beyond.
Masters of the Sea
Kroo mariners became internationally respected navigators, pilots and seafarers whose knowledge connected ports across West Africa and the wider world.
A Legacy of Freedom

Across borders and generations, descendants preserve language, traditions and stories while building opportunity for the future.
